Our mission at Southwest High School is to help students become principled, open-minded and caring members of society by nurturing their intellectual, emotional, social and physical growth through diverse in-class and extra-curricular activities.

We believe a well-rounded education is more than academic, and that adolescence is a time of enormous importance in developing healthy life-long habits. We promote learning through inquiry, positive risk-taking and critical thinking.

Because we live in a global community, we foster students’ international-mindedness and help them recognize the common elements of humanity that transcend national, racial, ethnic, religious, and political boundaries. Our students learn to be reflective, intentional in their thoughts and actions, and to communicate effectively and confidently.
